Lil' man has returned from his trip to the Navy Base turning out a few Night Owls using Belinda as the bargaining chip to assure their return. Little man for the first time has had to be a real hard nose pimp and force his will upon the Night Owls. To his surprise with great success.

Lil' Man understands how Belinda has made it this far in her life but he is perplexed as to how everyone falls for her bullshit. Momma Teal is happy that Little man has taken control of Belinda and is forcing her to kick her drug habit.

Lil' Man has convince Belinda that he intends to make her his number one as long as she shares all of the money she has been stashing with plans to get out of the life. Little Man has no intention of letting her go with the money, or letting her go at all. In fact he is more inclined to do something quite the opposite and fulfill her tearful wish that was made in haste while in the small motel room on the way back from the Navy base.

Black Charlie’s place was silent other than the whirring of an oscillating fan. Black Charlie spat the words unceremoniously.

Morning Thief Chap 16 Heyson Reed: Then and Now

The story so far.

The defense fund did its job very well. With an anonymous tip two more pigs were sent to slaughter by their own hands and dirty deeds to one another. The New Kid and the Uninvited Guest got into an argument and had an old fashioned O K Corral shoot out. The Uninvited Guest put three bullets in Heyson Reed just before taking his own life.

Local News was being spoon fed a crock of BS by the police department about the slain officers were ambushed during a burglary attempt at the cleaners.

Lil’ Man feels that his actions are what caused Heyson Reed to be shot three times in the line of duty.

Heyson Reed doesn’t remember all of the facts surrounding getting shot three times but one thing is clear the City wants to make this all go away nice and quiet. There has been no mention of the slop Lil’ Man delivered to the cleaners and he wont be asking any questions about either.

Lil’ Man narrowly escaped being framed for the murder of one of the pigs he slopped, only to find that the cops pinned it on a homeless man. In response to this Lil’ Man has taken the advice of Momma Teal and started a defense fund for the homeless man. In doing so Lil’ Man has stumbled into some not so low level politics and he has handled himself very well but he is not out of the woods yet.

The hospital was teeming with news people and police. I caught up to Momma just as she was coming out of the cafeteria she told me the news folks had been informed that Detective Reed single and had no family in the local area so that they would not hound her for an interview.
